For 2014-2020+ GM vehicles with AFM/DOD deactivated, this restrictor blocks oil flow through the VLOM (valve lifter oil manifold) to prevent inadvertent unlocking of AFM lifters which results in lifter failure. This is meant to install easily without removing the VLOM from the vehicle, on some it may be possible to install without even removing the intake manifold.
